I went for the science talk held in NUS this morning. The talk lasted for about 2 hours and already, I wished that it would end much earlier. So there was I trembling in LT25, where the air-conditioners seemed to be blowing at full power, and feeling famished as a result of an unsatisfied breakfast. After the talk, I rushed down to Raffles City and Convention Centre for the NTU Chemical Engineering tea party. I have to admit, NTU sure is generous. The tea party is actually held at an imposing ballroom. Just a look at the ambiance and it becomes obvious of the dear cost that they have to bear. On the other hand, NUS chose to hold the talk on its home ground. Not that I'm complaining, but wouldn't it be nice if the science talk is held at a venue more pleasing to the eyes? Nevertheless, that is just my personal and partial opinion. Now, let's go back to the NTU tea party. Sadly, my email arrived too late and the person-in-charge was unable to process it. Hence, my name was not on the list of the tea party. However, the receptionist was kind enough to offer me a blank tag card and offered to write my name on it. I rejected politely as I felt out of place, since the rest had their names printed on the cards and mine would be the only one that was hand-written. Therefore, I missed my opportunity of getting to know more about the course and having a taste of gourmet in the posh ballroom.
Despite that, I spent a very enjoyable day with Li Jun and Xue Xin. First, we went shopping at Raffles City. However, we could only stare at the clothes as their values were way beyond what we could afford. I guess the shopping spree in Raffles City would have to wait till 10 years later when I could probably allow the luxury. We went on to Marina Square as Xue Xin had a sudden desire for Long John Silver. We chatted non-stop as it had been months since we last saw each other. As we were shopping, I bought two tops which were on sale in Espirit and I felt so contented. Today has indeed been wonderful...

If ever I knew that work is going to be like this, I'll never sign that ludicrous contract that binds us for another 2 months of hell...
