1st lesson of German today… I was a little nervous, considering that I had not spoken or written a single German word for a year till this day. Haha. Nevertheless, the lesson was fun! My lecturer was simply wonderful! She is so bubbly and never seems to stop talking! Haha, not that it’s bad. On the contrary, I thought the whole lesson is interesting and enjoyable. Well, other than the fact that I was paired with this guy from the Netherlands for oral practice. His accent was so strong that half of the time I’m either asking him to repeat or I give up and converse in English. It’s a little embarrassing when I didn’t know what Tioman was and he could reply me. In German: “Oh, it’s a beach in Malaysia. It’s really great! Have u been there before?” I answered, “Nope, never heard of it.” Then he made another remark, “Oh I’ve watched the National Day live in Marina Bay with my friends. I like, in particularly, the … …” Then, he noticed my blank look. The reason? My friend, I didn’t catch the National Day Parade this year! Lol! I should start to pay more attention to my homeland and its neighbour. Haha.

7th August!!! My actual birthday!!! Haha, we're at Marmalade Pantry for dinner. There's only the three of us cos' as usual, Jolin is late. Hehe.
Miow looks like a child who didn't manage to get her candy. Haha...
Finally, the queen of tardiness is here... After 1 hour...
Just the right time for a mini gift graduation. Hehe, celebrating my step into adulthood and bygones to my days as a youth...
My presents includes a DIY booklet... It's really sweet and filled with memories of secondary and JC days. Couldn't help rolling my eyes when I flipped the booklet to the first page. Haha, my innocent face is giving myself goosebumps!!!
Drinks that we ordered... Couldn't resist placing the white flower in the middle. The flower was pretty ragged by the end of the dinner... Haha, all thanks to Vale and Jolin...
Food! We're hungry! Hmmm, overall I think Miow's meal was the most artistic of all. Chicken pot pie (3rd pic)... It sure doesn't look like a pie to me... More like a tree bark. Hehe.
Vale's 'acting' emo... I credit her for the efforts. Haha...
Last shot! Everyone is fooling around...

4th August Celebrations
Over at Minds in the afternoon... We're the promoters of Minds! Haha, but seriously the games are not too bad and packages are pretty reasonable.
Presenting to you are our very own games advisor. She's already a master of most varieties. Probably not the reaction ones... Haha
Games that we had planned to play... Still more to conquer!!!
Haha, Ziqin is so photogenic...Dinner was at Din Tai Feng! Zitian and Li Jun joined us after work. This reminds me of the Taiwanese band - 7 Flowers... The number fits! No lah, kidding. Haha...Xiao Long Bao and Shrimp Dumplings in Din Tai Feng are so good!!! Really like the soup!
The cake looks nice right? *Grins* *Ka-ching* Hehe, me and my custom-made cake. Hahaha... This photo looks spooky... The background and my expression just makes it a fine haunted picture. Haha, I'm not seeing things...
After dinner, it's off to Ben & Jerry for supper! Yummy!!!
What can I say? The camera loves her! Haha... Still not forgetting to pose even in times of tiredness is the spirit of true models.

Yesterday was a blissful day! I spent the first-half of the day with my brother, who treated me to a movie and lunch. Yup, I was pretty satisfied since I didn’t have to retrieve my wallet at all. Haha. Next was dinner with a group of close friends for catching up and a mini gift presentation. We ate at Marmalade Pantry in Palais Renaissance. Well, the quantity of the food is definitely unpredictable from the name of it. My eyes widened when the order of my main course came. Wow, that’s a lot. Haha. Miow’s and Vale’s meal were comparatively less. I was a little disappointed that the highly-recommended cupcakes were sold out. Overall, it was slightly pricey. Nevertheless, we expected it since it’s classified under fine dining. However, the food was a bit of let down as I was looking forward to good pasta as informed by Jolin. There’s only 2 pasta dishes on the menu. So much for being known for its pasta. Well done… Haha.
Anyway, dinner was still enjoyable because of good company. Thanks for the DIY booklet and present! It had been great catching up and I hope to have more gatherings of such.
Shout-out : I’m officially 21!!!
P.S. Thanks for all the SMSs and b’day messages on Facebook! I’m so contented that people whom I haven’t been meeting up with lately can still recall my birthday! Thanks!

1 more day to 21… Not looking forward to it, cos’ I’ll feel older… Very much older… Yikes!
I had a great time on Monday! We played games in Minds and had dinner at Din Tai Feng. I’d enjoyed myself thoroughly the whole day! Thanks for the cake and presents!!! Oh, and not forgetting the surprise, which is Li Jun. Yes, I was pretty surprised but the waitress spoilt it all by announcing 7 people. Haha… At the end of the day, Cindy is a happy gal. Hehe.
I went to work on Tuesday without sleeping a bit on Monday night. I drank too much Chinese tea the night before in Din Tai Feng and the result was a whole night of endless tossing and turning in bed. Nevertheless, I did manage to last till the end of the day. Even went to Minds again to play since Tuesday night is Ladies’ Night and ladies get to play the games for free. Yeah!
Bidding’s over. I secured all of the modules I wanted but the timetable is very awful. It reminds me of the same schedule that I had back in Semester 1 of Year 1. This is definitely not good…

Work is officially over!
Friday, August 01, 2008
Today’s my last day of work! I have been looking forward to it since last week. Work had been rather mundane and my late nights just added onto the weariness. I had been lethargic for the past 2 weeks and the much-awaited rest would definitely be most welcomed.
The farewell was rather difficult since I consider my colleagues to be really pleasant people, and they have been very patient and understanding with me. My boss treated me lunch and though I didn’t fancy the pork schnitzel, it had been a good meal with all the good laughter and gossips of a certain ‘someone’ in the office. After work, my colleagues gave me a dessert that was very exquisitely made and wished me luck for my studies. Well, I got to admit, I was pretty touched at that moment. Haha.
I’m going to miss Debbie lots… Lunching had been enjoyable as we visited places recommended by the older colleagues. There were days that we spent a bomb and times when we decided that cheaper food was what we need. Nevertheless, lunchtime had been always been satisfying!
I also miss the food in the CBD area. There’s one particular shop that sells delicious wanton mee (best I’ve ever tasted). It’s a bit pricey ($4) but the food is worth the price! Another restaurant which we often patronised, The Sail, is also a popular choice for lunch. My favourites are the Grilled Chicken in mushroom sauce and the Fish and Chips. The cost of each set meal is reasonable (around $12) with coffee/tea, dessert and free-flow of soup and bread. Man, I’m beginning to sound like a sales promoter. Oh anyway, just gonna say that there’s great food in that district!
